Introduction

I'm an avid board gamer living in St Pete. I already meet with a small group of friends on a regular basis to play a host of different games. Our favorites at the moment are Dominion, Catan, and Smallworld. Looking to meet other local board gamers

Why did you join this group? What are you hoping to get from it and how can we help make that happen?

Can't get enough board gaming :-) This would be a great opportunity to meet other people who have similar interests and have some fun times playing games - and discovering new ones.

What is/are your favorite game(s) and why? What game(s) do you not like to play and why?

Catan, Ticket to Ride, Carcassonne, and Runebound. The first three are fun because they are quick, light games that have some strategy involved. They also tend to promote player interaction. Runebound is a more heavy fantasy based game, but I really like the character customization and immersive adventuring. Not many games I'd say I dislike, but I tend to stay away from the more mainstream games (Monopoly, Risk, etc), just because I've played them so much growing up and I like to play games that are fresher/newer to me.

Are you more interested in party games or strategy games?

Depends on the situation. Party games can be lots of fun. I love Apples to Apples, Taboo, and Cranium. However, I don't usually play with enough people to make those games a consideration. Strategy are fun and work well with smaller groups that I usually play with.
